Here’s to the power of good design: We are so jazzed to share that our beloved ZZ has been announced as the winner of Fast Company’s Innovation by Design 2021 Awards in the Home category!

“Design is not just a beauty contest,” said Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company.
“It’s something that can change the world and create solutions in a time when we face pressing global issues such as systemic racism, climate change, and a global pandemic. Many of these entries showcase these challenges while providing hope for the future through their steadfast commitment to elevate design.”
Such truth! And that is exactly what we set out to do in creating ZZ Driggs seven years ago in 2014. We have always believed that furniture, when made well, is the most sustainable product there is. It’s the very reason antiques and vintage furniture exist in the first place. But it took some exquisitely built tech and polished engineering to get more high-quality, high-design furniture into more homes... plus hospitality-grade customer service, rock-solid operations, custom-built logistical systems, and one of the best teams a Founder can ask for and help to nurture.
Yet it didn’t happen overnight! We have always worked hard to reimagine how we furnish our lives for a new economy and a more sustainable future – that’s forever been our goal and it’s why we offer furniture that was made from three weeks to three hundred years ago!
Many moons ago we realized that the sharing economy – in its truest self – is a beautiful, gorgeous thing: it’s all predicated on goods that last and can be shared by as many people as possible. Isn’t that divine and so needed today?! It’s why we only bring furniture onto the ZZ platform that can last 50 years at a minimum.
And it’s working! You are our wonderful patrons, and the folks at Fast Co also see and appreciate our steadfast efforts and commitment to good design. AND the more business that we do at ZZ, the more we support the emerging, independent design communities in the U.S. and beyond. Gorgeous, stunning stuff on many accounts! Clearly it makes me so thrilled to think about this symbiotic relationship, yet such is the power of good design...!
With this award, ZZ’s mission to improve the way we access, utilize, and enjoy furniture has been recognized as “creative work at the intersection of design, business, and innovation, recognizing the people, companies, and trends that have steadily advanced design to the forefront of the business conversation” by a jury of renowned designers and business leaders from some of the most innovative companies in the world. Thank you for seeing and appreciating what our team does every day!
