What Have We Here ?
This table was built not long after the Civil War ended. Its original use was on a farm in the hamlet of Melrose, NY to feed workers tending to the fields and crops. We hope you'll find joy, just as the farmhands did, in the simple human pleasure of taking a break for a meal with others.
How to Use It ?
A simple, yet timeless table such as this can easily complement any interior arrangement, and we apprecIate its varied uses, whether as a dining table, work table, or even as a rather regal kitchen island (if one is lucky enough to have the room for it). Gather family or friends for any occasion and comfortably seat everyone’s plus one. Easily fold this table’s legs in and bring it outside when summer calls, yet please continue to be a considerate steward of this classic work, and never let rain fall directly on its surface.
Why It Matters ?
None of the individuals who felled the timber, split the lumber, or sawed the boards of this table are alive; yet this table still serves strong today. We don’t mean to be macabre, but it is a gentle reminder that sustainability means looking beyond our time and living to make our heirs proud.
